    Gingerbread House!

So yesterday I made my very first gingerbread house! Pictures are on the side. My sisters ate a few of the gumdrops from the very top of the roof.  So now there is a gap in there. But other than that, it is still in tact. Used icing as "glue" and candy as decorations for my house!

Also, I started a new blog at http://zuljenah.blogspot.com
So I will be updating that blog probably more often than this one. The only downside to that one is that I can't have photo albums like I have on this one. So I will be using both!

Also, pictures of the zoo are up! But I forgot to transfer the pictures of the girrafe for some reason  So stay tuned for that! Ok I guess that's all for now!

    Washington DC !!

Time for an update! So from November 19-22 I was in Washington D.C. for the annual Middle East Studies Association conference! It was fun! I met with some professors from the graduate schools I am applying to, went well overall.

Met up with some friends from the Iran tour I went on in July 2004 (Hadi and Hussein! Hellooo  This is your shout out!). Saturday we went to an Iranian restaurant. I had some chicken and rice! and some Iranian sweet that tasted too much like rosewater but it was still good! Then on Monday we went to an Afghani restaurant, food was really good! Oh yeah, and the smoothies!! Can't forget the smoothies from the Chinese restaurant. Thanks for the dinners!!  We should meet up more often to reminisce about Iran, it was fun!

Got a quick tour of Georgetown, which was cool. For some reason, whenever I would think of applying to Georgetown University for Arab studies, I always thought the university was in Georgetown, NY!! A very gloomy and depressing place. But now that I realise the university is actually in Washington DC and not NY, I might just consider it! Who knows. We'll see. But I am interested in Persian studies moreso than Arab studies.

Monday morning I went to the Smithsonian National Zoo (pictures coming soon!!). Unfortunately the baby panda was inside, and the mother panda kept on eating bamboo! Hardly got to see her upclose.  Maybe next time! Almosttt made it on CNN! When I was there, the news people were there! And later when I was in my hotel room and flipping through the channels, I saw the zoo and the panda on CNN!! Too bad I didn't get interviewed! I would've had a lot to say!!

Attended a few lectures. One about Iran-US relations was pretty interesting. It was jam-packed! It was the highlight of the day (monday). Of course it focused a lot on nuclear weapons, blah blah. All I gotta say is that if American and Israel can have weapons, there is no reason Iran should not be allowed to have weapons!

I actually spent a lot of time in the hotel room watching "Friends." There seemed to have been a marathon on tv. I know I'm so bad. I should've been attending more lectures  The flight to washington DC was so short, an hour and a half. But I felt sooo tired when I was there, and even had dark circles under my eyes the entire trip! I truly don't understand why! Because since I got back home, I have not had the dark circles. And I slept really well in DC too, so I am a bit confused. I felt all lethargic and whatnot. But hopefully next time I will enjoy the conference as much as possible!

I had the misfortune of meeting one of the most racist and bigoted women I have ever met. All I know is she seems to think she is some hot shot, has appeared on Fox news, and her last name is Meyerson. I had to listen to her babble on for 45 minutes about how wonderful Israel is and how Arabs are backwards and terrorists. What an idiot. I could say more about her, but I dare not waste my precious time talking about such an ignoramus!

I miss Washington DC! The hotel was awesome, and loved seeing so many people who are interested in Middle Eastern studies, and I miss hanging out with Hadi and Hussein! Well, maybe someday again in the future  Actually, we should all go to Iran again and then we can reminisce about that trip next!

ZOO PICTURES COMING SOON! STAY TUNED.

    Cat Crossing

So November 7th was Kitty's 17th Birthday. Kitty has been missing for 9 years now.  I really miss him very much! Kitty was my life. *sigh* InshAllah he is in a better place and hopefully we'll be reunited in the next life. I still remember the very first time he stepped into our house. Actually, my father carried him in lol. I was sleeping on the couch and Kitty got on top of me. I wake up only to look into this beautiful face and see him looking back at me with his beautiful big yellow-green eyes. I will never forget. My precious Kitty... I really miss you  Why did you have to run away... *sigh* Life has never been the same.

So it was Kitty's birthday and I was driving to campus early morning as always. On my street, a cat started crossing the road. Of course I stopped for him. He stopped in the middle of the road to look at me after I stopped, as though asking for permission to continue lol, so I waved at him telling him to continue, and then he did. Once he reached the other side, he once again looked at me, as if to say thank you. He was so cute!

Don't you wish all roads and highways had animal crossings. I wish animals knew better than to run out in front of cars. It would've been great if Allah would've given them enough intelligence to hit a button and cross the road when the sign says "walk." If only, then we wouldn't see so many poor animals who have died while crossing...

So in less than 2 weeks I will be in Washington DC for the MESA Convention. Is anyone else going? I can't wait. The hotel is amazing, sooo gorgeous! I hope I learn something while at the convention. I fear I will end up wasting my time checking out all the ballrooms, restaurants, tea rooms and whatnot in the hotel instead of doing much else! lol... And of course it's DC!! So of course I am gonna check out the city, and maybe have a word or two with Bush!   I'm surprised my mum is letting me go alone! lol, well I have travelled alone before, to London! So I guess I shouldn't be so surprised. And besides, she knows I'm a good girl and won't do anything stupid  Besides, I won't be completely alone anyway lol, I'll be meeting some friends in for lunch and whatnot! Should be fun!! Yay.

    LOVE YOU KITTY.

19 days and counting until I turn 23... Half of 46!!!  You all better remember my birthday :)

    GRE Nightmare

So today was the day of my big exam. Of course I wake up early, eat breakfast (which made me feel like I was going to vomit) and get ready and relax a bit before I have to leave! So I decide to leave at 8:30 which will allow me to reach their 15 minutes early, so it'll give me time to calm my nerves before the exam.

So I pull up to the building where the exam was held last year [I took it last year but didn't have my scores reported]. I go inside and wait, but I look around and see that there isn't anyone else there! Not even a proctor! So I start asking the people in the other offices in the building where the testing center is, and no one knows! So now I am all frantic and whatnot. So I leave the building on the verge of tears... I get in my car, make a few turns here and there (while driving like a complete maniac) and go to Kinkos to look in the phone book. I was very impatient so I cut in front of people to ask for a phone book, I told them its an emergency! So I look up the number and call, and the number is disconnected! So I try again, same thing.

So I run out of kinkos, now a complete mess, have no idea what to do! So I go back to the same building. As I'm standing there crying like a fool because I'm afraid I've messed everything up, all this time spent for preparation and I can't even find the damn place... This woman comes to me and asks if everything is ok. She must've been an angel, cause out of all the people, she knew where the testing center moved to! A few buildings over. So I get back in my car and drive like a complete maniac again and make it to the testing center. Phew! Of course I am late, but they said they allow half an hour for people to arrive anyway. Wish I'd know that earlier! I wouldn't have been so worried then!

Anyway, the exam went well. Did better on math than in verbal, damnit  Why does that always happen! I needed to do better on verbal than on math!! Anyway, so I am somewhat content with my score, just glad its all over, so I won't take the exam again! Now I gotta fine tune my essay and work on all the rest... But at least I can relax a bit now.

Well, my French midterm is this week, and my history mid term next week, but after that I shall relax a bit in Manhattan  Going to Manhattan for the weekend at the end of this month, so I am looking forward to that. Get to go to my favourite restaurants (Ruby Foos, Isabellas) and check out the museums.

Speaking of museums, I've decided I'd like to be a museum curator, InshAllah! I think it's a cool job. Of course my speciality would be Middle Eastern history and art. So InshAllah (God Willing) I will get a master's in ME studies and then a master's in Museum Studies! It's very competative, though, so I don't know if I'd ever be so lucky to work at the Metropolitan or the British Museum, but its worth a try! Its a fun job with a good salary too! And it would be something I'd enjoy a lot too, so InshAllah  We'll see! Just pray for me! :)

Pinnacle of Brilliance... Or maybe not...

I wonder when gas prices will start to decrease? Let me share a story with you all.  This all took place a few years ago. It was the summer of 2002, and I stopped off at the gas station to fill my car up. Back then gas wasn't expensive! So after I had filled up my tank, a brilliant idea occurred to me. I should put extra gasoline in my tank so I won't have to come back to the gas station for at least a month! So I assumed $15 worth of extra gas would be enough to keep me going for a month or even more. So I'm watching the meter, and when it hit $15 more, I decided that was enough and turned towards my car to put the lid on the tank, and what do I see... a huge puddle of gasoline on the ground!!  At first I was puzzled, wondering why the gasoline is on the ground and not in my car! Only then did it occur to me that the gasoline tank can only hold so much gas, and once it's full, you can't put extra gas in it!!! So yes, my brilliance went to waste, as did $15. *sigh* A lot of other strange things happenned on this day as well lol... I'll share that with you all another time... such as my experience at the car wash.

So, my GRE exam is right around the corner. I am freaking out about that, so keep me in your prayers everyone!! Applying to graduate schools is just so stressful!

If anyone is interested, I will InshAllah be attending the MESA Annual Meeting being held in Washington DC this year, from November 19-22. Anyone going? Would love to see some familiar faces there! :) http://fp.arizona.edu/mesassoc/MESA05/mesa05.htm

People say all I do is talk about animals in my blog. I do apologize for that, however, I love animals and always have a lot of animal stories :) So a few weeks ago I was leaving campus, and I saw all these geese on the soccer field of my campus. I haven't seen them since. Maybe they migrated down south, I don't know... I had a more important animal story that isn't coming to mind right now... Hmm, as soon as I remember I will be back here to tell you all.

Hmm, ok, I had a lot on my mind, but now I can't remember what I wanted to write about  Grrr...Oh well. I guess that's enough for now then. Be back soon :) Toodlez for now.
    September 23

Birds of a Feather Flock Together.. But this is really about horses.

So, today as I was driving from campus to Barnes & Noble, I saw all these birds flying together. They all turn at the same time, in the same direction; very nice, beautiful sight! I just love seeing them fly together... Nature is just so beautiful

So at Barnes & Noble I bought the Washington Report. It has a bunch of articles about the Middle East, so I thought I'd check them out. I'll report back to ya'll what I think about the articles, hehe

So outside of Barnes&Noble there was a truck parked with the horse carrier in the back. There were 2 horses inside. So I really love horses and love petting them and reading verses out of the Qur'an to them  So I approached the horse, he was beautiful. I rubbed his nose, so soft  The owner wasn't anywhere near to be seen. Anyhow, it seemed they've been in the carrier thing for a while, I'm quite worried about the poor horses. And the one horse kept on munching on the blue paint of the carrier and eating the paint chips he would break off!  This cannot be healthy for the horse. I waited around for about 40 minutes, but the stupid owner didn't show up. Ugh. That is really too long of a time to keep the poor horses cooped up in that tiny space. *sigh* Anyway, so I wrote the owner a note and left it under his windsheild wipers. I hope he reads it!

This makes me think. I love horses, they are beautiful creatures and deserve to be treated with respect, as ALL animals do. If you have a horse, don't abuse it or treat it horribly! I don't like horse racers. What if the horse doesn't want to race? I don't know.  Just please take a few moments out of your day to pray for all the animals in this world. They are just so helpless.

Ok, That's all I have to say for today I suppose! Toodlez for now.
    September 21

    Oh, deer!

So, today was a very exhausting day. Of course I had to go to class in the morning. So I'm speeding down the parkway, and this police car pulls onto the parkway as I'm speeding past him, so I quickly made a right turn onto a rode hoping to escape his view, and I did, because traffic was heavy, thank Goodness! Cause I was doing 60mph in a 45mph zone!

So class is boring as usual. Then its time to go to work. So I head out the backway of campus, near the Nature Preserve, and I see a deer on the side of the road, and luckily he's alive too!  So cute!!  I love the nature preserve. Anyway, so I was happy to see him. And unfortunately I was lost in thought about the deer and almost ran through a stop sign. As soon as I realized I passed a red sign, which I knew must've been a stop sign, I came to a screeching stop. And thank God, just in time! Cause a bus was going by, and I surely would've hit it had I not stopped, I had to quickly reverse a bit, but I managed, phew!

So work was blah as usual. I was supposed to work only 5 hours, and today was my last day!! But they needed me to stay longer, so I ended up working 8 hours in total. I am so exhausted.

Now, on to more important things. The second of LOST season begins tonight!!!  YaY!! I am so excited  Well, I am very hungry!! So I should probably go eat now!! Toodlez
    September 14

    Crappy Day

So my day starts out crappy, because I had major pain in my stomach. Its not the first time I've had that pain, I'm not too sure what it is... I'll go to a doctor someday to get it checked out. Anyway, so I go to classes as always. I am backing into a parking space, and this jackass goes into the space that I am backing into!! That really ticked me off, damn Long Islanders  All those kids who come to my university from Long Island really lack common courtesy!

So then after class ends at 9:30am, I make my way to the mall to go to work (10am - 3pm). I am there for a few hours but I felt really sick. So I called the bookstore from the kiosk and told them I was not feeling well and to see ifI could go home. So they said sure, but made me wait another hour before I could go home, and I was in a lot of pain and felt as though I was going to vomit  It was not pleasant. *sigh*

So I came home and ended up sleeping for 2 hours, still wearing my contacts. I hate when that happens. Gives me a headache and makes me feel sick when I sleep with them, my eyes feel really oxygen deprived!

Anyway, that's about it really. Just ate a fish sandwich and now I should probably do some homework! Man, what would really make me feel better is if the season premeire of LOST were tonight instead of next Wednesday!
    September 12

    Just a quick update...

Its been a while since I've written. So let me update you all on my life. So lately, I've been having anxiety attacks about not getting into graduate school  I am very, very, very stressed out, with my GRE exam coming up and the whole application process! So please do keep me in your prayers!

So the other day at work, I saw my golden retriever buddy. He is just so cute, well groomed and well behaved, I can't help but want to pet him!  I love how he patiently waits outside of McDonalds while his owner gets him a burger lol... The burger is for the dog! Anyway, The other day his owner saw me and told his dog to say hi to me. So the dog comes over and nudges me and then lifts his paw for me to shake it  Just sooo cute!! The dog is trained to get help for the owner in case he has a heart attack, so that's why he's allowed inside of the mall. But I've noticed people trying to make a trend out of walking their dogs in the mall, so I've been seeing a LOT of dogs in the mall lately, which is sort of gross if they go inside all of the stores lol, but oh well, whatever.

Hmmm, what else? So we have lots of birdseed in the backyard, and lately a grey and white cat has been showing up, waiting to catch a chipmunk!! Beautiful cat. I wish I had a cat *sigh*

Gasoline prices are so high! Did you all know that it takes 196,000 LBS of prehistoric plant life to produce ONE gallon of gasoline? So maybe the high prices are doing nature justice? Of course nature isn't getting the profits  Anyway, someday when I have time, I will have to tell you all a funny story relating to gasoline!  Another day! right now, I must get back to studying... Pray for me!!

ps- I had been dying to see the movie "The Brothers Grimm" as I LOVE fairy tales and whatnot, but the movie wasn't very good. It had the potential, but it just didn't make it. I do recommend the movie "The 10th Kingdom," which NBC made many years ago. Check it out, awesome movie!
    August 31

    Doggie in the Mall

So today I was working once again at the Calendar kiosk in the mall. There was an old man with his dog in the mall! And he wasn't blind either, it wasn't a seeing-dog. It was a beautiful golden retriever! He was very well groomed. So there is a McDonalds right across the kiosk. He took his dog off the leash while he went inside McDonalds to buy his dog a sandwich, so cute! The dog was sooo obedient. He just sat outside, not even moving! Just wagging his tail, so adorable! So they sat on the bench and ate the sandwich. Then on the way back he stopped by and said to me that he noticed me looking at his dog. I said he's a very nice dog and I wanted to pet him. The man told his dog to say hi to me, so the dog lifted his paw for me to shake it! lol  The man has had the dog since it was a puppy and he is VERY well trained. The dog did a few demonstrations for me. What a cutie! I'd say this was the highlight of my day.

I had French class in the morning. So as usual I drive to campus. But it was pouring like crazy when I got out of my car. I had an umbrella, but it was really of no use at all. I was soaking wet! Literally soaking wet! Everywhere you went, the water was so deep, I wouldn't even call them "puddles" because they were not puddles. So my feet were all wet, and I had to sit in class freezing because the air conditioner was on. It was very uncomfortable. But who am I to complain... Think about all those poor people in New Orleans  Not to mention the tragedy in Iraq today...Where over 600 Shi'as died! Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Rajioon. *sigh*
    August 28

    Death to PIZZA HUT!

I have a VERY bad headache right now. And I blame it all on PIZZA HUT!!! Death to Pizza Hut!!!! Ok, maybe not completely on Pizza Hut. Most if it is due to work. Today I worked at WaldenBooks, but they stuck me in the middle of the mall at the stupid "Day by Day Calendar Co." stand. Ugh... Basically that means that you walk around and round and round the stupid kiosk asking people "Is there anything I can help you find today?" and everyone says no. Honestly, when I am shopping or browsing around, I don't want anyone to ask me if I need help. If I need help, then I will ask for it! Sheesh...

Anyway... so after work... I go buy some bubble tea (lychee green tea with tapioca)  I'm addicted to it. So then I head over to the bookstore to buy my textbooks, and mum calls saying she wants me to get a Pizza. Now, normally I would order pizza from Brother Bruno's, but damn them. They disappeared into thin air. It was my favourite pizzaria, but one day during March (I think it was March) I wanted Pizza, and what do you know, they are not there anymore! Grrr... sigh, I miss Bruno's. So now I get pizza from Tony's, which is a bit out of my way. So I call them (have it on speed dial) but no one was answering the damn phone. So I head over to stupid Pizza Hut.

God, my headache is getting worse. So I order a pizza and some pasta for myself to go. So I put the pizza and pasta in the backseat of my car. I leave the parking lot, and what do you know, the pasta goes flying off the seat, and I didn't even turn sharply!!! It was a SLOW and SMOOTH turn but the damn pasta went flying. It was in one of those round foil containers with the plastic top. However, they did not put on the top properly, so the pasta spilled on the floor of the backseat. I am ticked. So I pull into IHOP's parking lot to clean it up. All I can say is DEATH TO PIZZA HUT!!! Ok, thank God I had removable carpeting in the back, so I have to wash it, but man, I would've killed Pizza Hut if it spilled on my backseat, cause I don't have covers on them! Anyway, this did not do much to help my headache!! God, where is Brother Bruno's when you need them the most
    August 22

    Daryush!

Daryush was our busdriver in Iran. He didn't speak English. But he found his ways to communicate with me! For example, I am sometimes animated when I speak. I would always say "Oh my God!" Although Daryush didn't speak English, he would mimic me! So when something would happen and he knew I would be ready to yell "Oh my God!," he would say it before I would! And he would always repeat it when I would say it and have the same expression on his face, but with a hint of mischief. *sigh* I miss Iran.  One time we were at Sherezad Restaurant in Esfahan. This is a restaurant with scenes painted on the walls from the book "One Thousand and One Arabian Nights." Beautiful restaurant. I was sitting at the end of the table near Daryush and Afsaneh (our tour guide), falling asleep. He saw me and started to pretend he was falling out of his chair cause he was asleep. Then when we were in Esfahan and were running late to make it to the airport, it was Daryush's birthday that day. We sang Happy Birthday to him on the bus. And he would mimic Afsaneh who was all frantic cause we were running late. and he would listen to music and sing and dance along to the music while driving *sigh* The good ol' days... The day we were driving to Esfahan was quite funny as well. We were so lost that we made it there at 5am!! We were supposed to have gotten to Esfahan many hours earlier. I really wish I could relive the same experiences again. It was the best time of my life. Well, InshAllah there will be more times like that in the future.  I'll tell you all about the lizard and my sister another day... ooh, the suspense!
    August 20

    Productive Italian Day!

So today I decided I would skip work. So I woke up, called in sick, and then began studying for my GRE. I actually did more practise for my GRE today then I have done ever before, so I am quite proud of myself.  Then I decided I would make Fettuccini Alfredo today. So first I went to the bookstore, and picked up a book I had ordered, "Veronika Decides to Die." Can't wait to start reading it. Then I went to Wegmanns to buy my ingredients. I was wearing my Italy shirt! So I felt very Italian, buying Italian bread, pasta and all the necessary ingredients to make my pasta from scratch. So I came home, went online for a bit, and then made my pasta! It came out pretty good. I hope I have more productive days like this in the future, InshAllah.

So right now I am in my pajamas. Yes, It's 5pm and I am in my pajamas. Normally I change into them as soon as I know I'm not going to be going out again. Pajamas are quite comfortable  I'm actually wearing a "Child of Abraham" shirt. Last semester, there was a program, "Children of Abraham," where Muslims and Jews would meet and discuss their similarities, rather than their differences. I unfortunately did not attend the event, but bought the t-shirt. Today is actually the first day I'm wearing it. Quite ironic, as the Jewish settlers are gone from the Gaza Strip now. Will a day ever come when we really do get along? I honestly don't think so. I don't ever picture peace in Palestine. *sigh*
    August 19

    Just Rambling

So a few nights ago I was coming home from work. There was a beautiful full moon. It was truly picture perfect. There was a wisp of clouds right beneath the moon. It seemed like a painting. Of course much more beautiful than a painting as it was real! I wish I had my camera on hand. If only I could've stayed out all night to just gaze at the moon *sigh* Unfortunately though I had work the next morning. Such a beautiful sight though. I wish I could put into words how magnificent and awe inspiring it was.

I am VERY close to quitting my job at the collection agency. I cannot and willnot work for such a morally bankrupt company such as MCI! I could tell you about a recent story that would clearly demonstrate how terrible MCI and its employees are, but I'm too tired to type it right now, I shall do that another day, I promise :)

Oh, I'm skipping out on work tomorrow. Going to stay home to try and study for my GRE. I MUST study. I hope I accomplish something tomorrow. I'm taking my exam in the beginning of October. For anyone reading this, PLEASE, I beg of you, KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS!! Please pray that I do well.

I suppose I've bored you all enough for one night. Will be back another day to ramble on about other things. *sigh*

    Nutella Deprived

Its been a few weeks now since I ran out of my last jar of nutella. I used to have at least a few spoonfuls a day. *A spoonful of nutella a day keeps the sadness away.*  I can't believe I haven't gone back to the store since to buy another jar! I lived off of nutella, always carrying around a spoon! The jar says it tastes good with just about anything. That's not true. The first time I had a nutella sandwich. At first I thought "wow, this is good." Better than a peanut butter sandwich perhaps? But then a few moments after finishing my nutella sandwich I began to feel sick. Nutella is not a health food. Neither is peanutbutter, but at least it tastes healthier. Then oneday I was waiting for my mum to finish cooking dinner. There was salad sitting on the table, so I thought I'd try nutella with cucumbers. When you first take a bite, all you can taste is the nutella. Then you get the aftertaste of cucumbers. Not a good combination. Now bananas and nutella sounds quite good! So I tried that. Of course I didn't slice the bananas. I just would plop on some nutella, take a bite, and do it again.  Quite mushy! I wish I could have a nutella crepe. Now that would definitely taste good I'm sure! *sigh* I miss having crepes in France.  Ah..well. Enough about nutella I suppose. I stopped off at CVS to buy some necessities, so I bought a box of Ferrero Rocher to satisfy my nutella cravings until I buy a new jar.

    -M*C*I- Sucks!

Let me do you all a service and tell you how much MCI (the phone company) sucks. I think they're going out of business in April 2006. Right? Thank God! I work at a collection agency for MCI, collecting phone bills from MCI customers. Around 97% of the people I call say they've been lied to and cheated by MCI, and it's true. If a telemarketer calls you and tells you that the first month or two of your MCI service will be free, do NOT believe him/her. The person is lying to you. If you think you are signing up for a $40/month plan, in reality, it's around $70+. If you have MCI and try to cancel, they will tell you that your service has been cancelled when in reality it hasn't been, and you will continue to be charged and MCI will continue to harass you for the payments. I could go on and on about the things MCI has lied to people about, but I'll save my time and yours. Please do NOT sign up with MCI under ANY circumstances. You will regret it. And all those people I have to deal with on the phone everyday, they all complain about how much MCI sucks, and I tell them to just cancel their services, and they do TRY, but you know MCI.... ugh. God, I hate my job.

    Thailand

So yesterday we picked up my sister from the airport. She came back from Thailand (where she was doing medical research). She also went to China for a week or so. Her pictures were actually nice! I was quite surprised, considering that she asked me how to load film into the camera lol... Maybe I can scan a few and put them up here. Anyway...

It's really sad. My sister worked with orphans and street children in Thailand. It's so sad seeing their pictures. They have such sad lives... Really makes me realize what an ingrate I am. *sigh* Maybe I should look at her pictures everyday, so I don't forget to be thankful for all that I do have. The children were really sooo cute, especially the little baby orphans, just so adorable. Their lives are just so depressing though...

I wish all the really rich people in this world would go to the poverty-stricken parts of the world and see these innocent children and help build better orphanages. It ticks me off to see people like Paris Hilton spend thousands of dollars on her stupid dog. ugh. There was one a report I read that said middle and lower income people donate a higher percentage of their money to charitable causes than do higher income people. Perhaps because lower and middle income families actually know the struggles faced by poverty stricken people.

My sister said that she saw a lot of old white men (aka 10000% scum) that go there to take advantage of the children. God, I really hate people. Why do most people in this world lack a conscience and a heart??? This world is really such a horrible place to live in. There is more bad than good in this world. May God give such scum what they deserve. Ugh.

Anyway, That's all for now... Gonna head out for some bubble tea later. *sigh* Be grateful for what you have! I know I really could be a lot more grateful.

    Elvis Presley... Jr!

So today at work (the collection agency), one of the calls I had to make was to "Elvis Presley Jr." His actual real name was something more common, like "James." But he goes by Elvis now lol ... Anyway... I remember a few days ago, I had to call someone named "Jesus." I know it's pronounced "hey-sus," but really you don't get much time to think before you can say "hello, is so-and-so there" so I ended up pronouncing it "gee-zus"... Oops  Sometimes I get names that I really don't know how to pronounce. But it's ok! I manage. Othertimes I'll forget to hit my mute button while talking to my neighbors, and then I'll get a call so quickly that the customer will hear the last part of what I was saying to my neighbor lol...oops again! Anyway, It's not that bad really. Sometimes it is ... Like today, I called this women who kept on yelling at me and wouldn't let me get in a word!! But after she calmed down I told her I'd solve her problem and then she was nice! Anyway, This is my boring blog entry for the day!

    I miss Iran.

So today I went minigolfing. It seems to be the only thing to do around here. *sigh* If only Manhattan were closer. I miss Iran. I miss Esfahan and Tehran especially. Those happened to be my two favourite cities in Iran.

In Tehran, we went to a few parks. I especially loved the mountain that you can keep on climbing to the very top, and every so often you would see a restaurant. Then at the very top, you have a great view of the city! My favourite night in Tehran was when we went bikeriding at this one park. The trail was very nice! Smooth. It was pretty long. My legs were killing me and I had to really force myself towards the end, but it was really worth it. There was a full moon that night. So many families were there having their picnics at night. The sound of Iranian music and the scent of Iranian food at night, it was just so pleasant. I wish I could re-live that night again, with the same company. The others on the tour made it even more fun. I wonder if I went on another tour, with different people, if I'd enjoy it as much. Hmm, who knows. I just wish I could go back.

I also miss Esfahan. I miss the si-o-se pol bridge at night. I miss smoking sheesha  Apple flavour, especially! lol ... Esfahan has to be one of the most beautiful places I've seen! I just hope the US can keep it's hands off of the country!

I miss the food.  I miss Fesenjan, Sohan Halva, Gaaz, even the kababs! When I was in Iran, I was getting tired of all the kababs. Too many! But now, I miss it. I really wonder if I do want to go back. I love the country, but would it be the same? Hmm... I guess we'll have to see. First I should learn Farsi!

Maybe tomorrow I'll talk about how much I miss London... But I think I miss Iran more. Well, I miss them for different reasons anyway. Iran was just so much fun! I know I could never have as much fun again as I did in Iran. *sigh* Iran Zindabad.

    Comments about Iran pictures

Just wanna comment about the Iran pics. The Black and White ones I took myeslf, and developed and printed myself too :) So they are scanned, which is why the quality might not be good. And a few of the pics I was tired of spending time on, so they may be washed out in a few areas and burned in other areas. I was sick of being in the dark room!

About the color pictures... I didn't take all of them, my sister took some of them. And they were taken using regular 35mm film. The photo place put the pics on a CD, and as you can see, the quality isn't that great. Also... There are no pictures with me or anyone else in them... Didn't want to post those for all the word to see! Or at least the 3 or so people that visit this page lol ... so that's why there aren't many pics at all.

Ok, leave some feedback if you want :)
    Thanks!
